FAQs
A dermal filler is a soft gel substance injected beneath the skin to restore lost volume, soften wrinkles and lines, or enhance facial contours.
Are you tired of seeing sagging skin, lost volume, and wrinkles every time you look in the mirror? Have you thought about a facelift, but prefer something less invasive? If this sounds like you, then you may be the perfect candidate for dermal fillers. Ideal dermal filler candidates are in good health, are non-smokers, and have an optimistic outlook and realistic goals for their appearance.
You will see immediate results after your procedure. However, there can be swelling or bruising that may last for several days. Full results are best appreciated two weeks after the initial treatment.
The duration of dermal filler is strongly affected by your body’s metabolic rate. Most fillers will last anywhere from 6-12 months, even up to 2 years, depending on what type of filler is used.
Most clients describe the discomfort associated with dermal filler injections as minimal. The dermal fillers include an anesthetic medication (lidocaine), and your provider may apply topical numbing cream to certain areas if necessary. Ice can also be utilized to reduce discomfort.
Since facial fillers are temporary, regular treatments will be necessary to maintain results. We recommend having touch-ups before your filler has completely dissolved to maintain your youthful appearance.
Most clients can typically return to their normal activities immediately after treatment. We do recommend avoiding intense physical activity for 24-48 hours to minimize swelling and bruising. Since bruising and swelling are often expected, we recommend planning these injections at least two weeks before any special event.
